Natural graphite crucible is made of natural graphite processing, crucible is an important part of chemical instruments, it is the melting and refining of metal liquids and solid liquid heating, reaction container, is to ensure the smooth progress of chemical reactions on the basis. Graphite crucibles are refractory vessels designed specifically for metallurgical operations. These are made from a mixture of graphite, refractory clay, clinker and other additives. Depending on the raw material used, these crucibles are called clay clay clay graphite crucibles. Crucibles can be with or without spouts. These crucibles are used to melt ferrous, non-ferrous alloys and precious metals.
Graphite crucible has good thermal conductivity and high temperature resistance, in the process of high temperature use, the coefficient of thermal expansion is small, and it has certain strain resistance to acute heat and quenching. It has strong corrosion resistance to acid and alkaline solutions and has excellent chemical stability. In the metallurgical, casting, machinery, chemical and other industrial sectors, it is widely used in the smelting of alloy tool steel and the smelting of non-ferrous metals and their alloys, and has a good technical and economic effect.
Uses of graphite crucibles
1. Oil-fired furnaces
Fuel-burning furnaces are powered by natural gas, oil, propane or coke and need graphite crucibles that can withstand maximum energy from the furnace or BTU. Crucibles are used in gas, petroleum and propane-fueled furnaces, which are designed to withstand burner flames around the conical crucible for even distribution of heat.
2. Resistance furnace
The graphite crucible of the resistance furnace must be specially designed, because the heating of the electric furnace is much slower than that of the fuel furnace. For energy saving and high thermal conductivity, crucibles must have a high graphite content in carbon binders. They are basin-shaped and placed at equal distance from the heating elements.
3. Induction furnace
The choice of fuel burning furnace and electric furnace graphite crucible is much easier than the selection of induction furnace. In one type of induction furnace, crucibles are used to melt the charge, while in other types, the sensing field passes through crucibles. Crucibles must be matched to the operating frequency of the furnace and the specific application. In low-frequency furnaces, crucibles are made of high silicon and carbide content. In high-frequency furnaces, they are made of clay. Proper matching prevents crucibles from overheating.
4. Removable crucible furnace
The furnace crucible is "A" shaped, so it can be lifted with pliers and then removed from the furnace to pour out the molten metal. They can be mounted inside or outside the furnace and allow their contents to be poured.
5. Tilting furnace
When the furnace tilts to pour molten metal, the graphite crucible used to tilt the furnace remains stationary. Tilt furnaces can be induction furnaces or electric furnaces capable of melting steel, iron, copper, brass, gold, platinum, silver, nickel, palladium and their alloys.
Precautions for the use of graphite crucibles
For the smelting of cast metals and alloys, graphite crucibles are very convenient for smelting cast metals and alloys, but pay attention to some things when using:
1. Slowly bake them to 500 degrees Celsius before use.
2. When smelting metal, should be filled according to the capacity of the graphite crucible, so that the crucible will not be squeezed too tightly, in order to avoid the thermal expansion and cracking of the rabbit crucible.
3. When removing the molten metal, it is best to scoop out the metal melt with a spoon and use a caliper as little as possible. If you use calipers and other tools, it should conform to the shape of the crucible to avoid excessive local forces and shorten the service life.
4. When using, it should be avoided that the strong oxidation flame is directly sprayed on the crucible, so that the life of the crucible raw materials is shortened.
5. after use in a dry place, do not let the rain intrude, graphite crucible is most afraid of moisture, after the moisture has a great impact on the quality.
6. When the graphite crucible is not in use, it should be placed on a wooden frame, and it is advisable to be 25 to 30cm from the ground.
